Today I'm just going to post a bunch of random things. I love those posts! =) Hopefully you like them, too.
First up:
Can you believe it's February already?! I sure can't. It feels like it should still be the end of 2010... like we should be anticipating Christmas or something. But nope... it's February already. Here's a list of the pros and cons of the month:
Pros:
Tons of chocolate
Everybody's spreadin' the love (well... almost everybody)
Lot's of adorable pink-and-red going around
Cons:
Coldness. Coldness with snow is fine, but without the pretty snow... not so much.
Well... okay, I only thought of one con. Actually, two. I don't usually get much (or anything) valentines-y because everyone is so focused on my birthday. Not that I want to skip my birthday or anything... it's just sad that it gets in the way of Valentines.
Next item:
I think that most of you have already submitted your answers to my Fine Eyes Quiz, but if you haven't done so yet, you should! And maybe try creating your own? =D
Also in the way of past posts, don't forget to go to Bailey's blog and say 'howdy'. Not like I'm trying to force you or anything, but if you enjoy my blog at all, I'm sure you'll love hers. As long as you can put up with two people who love Jane Eyre. ;)
Aaaaanndd... Next up:
The wonders of photoshop. Here is a picture that my sister took of me:
Wanna know a secret? I have never worn a regency dress. =) Yup. Love photoshop. I think I'd love having the dress more than I love photoshop... but I'll work with what I've got. Anyhow, the purpose behind the picture was so that I can use it on my sidebar to match my new blog theme. =D
... I will be on a plane headed for Florida! I am SO excited! One thing that makes my trip sound even better is the fact that I won't be flying standby. Flying standby didn't really bother me before, or at least I didn't think it bothered me. I wouldn't mind flying standby again, to tell the truth. Yet at the same time, I find that I am *very very much* happy to know for sure that I have a seat on a specific flight and will be arriving at a specific time. =)
Here's a picture from the last time I was in Florida. (I was 4) I think my grandparents live in the same place, so maybe I can ask my grandpa to take a picture of me jumping into the pool again. HAHAHA It wouldn't be nearly as cute, though! =P
I had thought before that I might be able to blog while I'm in Florida, but now that's not such a sure thing. My grandpa is having some computer issues. I'll blog if I can, but I'm not going to make any promises.
By the way, thanks again for the lovely comments you all leave! <3 What do you think of Disqus? Do you want me to go back to the way things were? Do you guys ever look back at your comments to see when I reply to them?
And now I'll leave you with a portion of one of my favorite scenes from one of my favorite books. Here is a bit of the scene in Jane Eyre where Mr. Rochester and Jane are parting ways for a time.
[Starting with Mr. Rochester speaking]
"You go to-morrow, then?"
"Yes, sir; early."
"Shall you come down to the drawing-room after dinner?"
"No, sir, I must prepare for the journey."
"Then you and I must bid good-bye for a little while?"
"I suppose so, sir."
"And how do people perform that ceremony of parting, Jane? Teach
me; I'm not quite up to it."
"They say, Farewell, or any other form they prefer."
"Then say it."
"Farewell, Mr. Rochester, for the present."
"What must I say?"
"The same, if you like, sir."
"Farewell, Miss Eyre, for the present; is that all?"
"Yes."
"It seems stingy, to my notions, and dry, and unfriendly. I should like something else: a little addition to the rite. If one shook hands, for instance; but no--that would not content me either. So you'll do no more than say Farewell, Jane?"
"It is enough, sir: as much good-will may be conveyed in one hearty word as in many."
"Very likely; but it is blank and cool--'Farewell.'"
Here is the same scene in my favorite movie version of Jane Eyre.
Perhaps it really doesn't have anything to do with my short trip to Florida, but I love any excuse to share my favorite things. =D
So, then, my dear blog friends, Farewell for the present.
Sorry my head is at such a weird angle in these pictures. I was trying to get the computer to take a picture without getting lots of glare on my glasses.

AFTER:
My haircut was based off of the girl's hair in this movie poster: (Nothing like basing your hair off of a movie case you see at a thrift store! hehe)
Now I just need to get some highlights. (I actually am considering it...)
Even with highlights it'll look different. My hair after the haircut is basically in two layers... Seriously? I gave the gal the picture and said, "Do this." Her hair looks like it's more than two layers to me... At least in front. Oh, well. I think I like it anyhow.
I love the 1995 BBC presentation of Pride and Prejudice. I know that there are many people out there (including two of my best friends) who will disagree with me on this: but Colin Firth seriously is Mr. Darcy. So when I discovered - quite by accident - that today is Colin Firth's 50th birthday, I just had to share some celebratory pictures with ya'll.
Hey, ya’ll! I’m still blogging! Hurrah! =D We’ll see if I can keep up this good streak, huh? Thanks so much to those of you who have been leaving me comments. I appreciate it so much! I think that comments always make people happy. Here are a couple of questions for you to answer in the event that you don’t have a comment to leave after reading my post:
What are your plans for this weekend, if any?
What do you love about fall?
My answers to these questions are: For this weekend I’m hoping to be able to hang out with my good friend Erin. She lives about an hour away from me, but there’s a family who goes to our church that live out near her. So what I’m hoping will work out is this: There’s a youth activity tomorrow night and the M’s are planning on coming. So I’ll ride home with them, spend the weekend with Erin, then get a ride with the M’s back to church on Sunday morning. The only thing that might ruin my beautiful plan is the weather… We’ll see how it goes.
My favorite part of fall is pretty much everything, but especially the weather. And leaves crunching under my feet. I love the colors all around and the crisp air. I love drinking hot tea or apple cider on a fall morning. Fall is just my favorite season! I just now realized that I keep saying ‘fall’ in spite of the fact that I think the word autumn is much nicer… Anyhow, on Monday I posted and mentioned to ya’ll what a gorgeous autumn we’re having. I don’t recall whether or not I actually said this, but it wasinspiring weather. The type that makes me want to go outside and write poems or stories. As I hadn’t taken any pictures yet, I determined that I would post later in the week with pictures of our lovely fall. Here is a sample of what procrastination does to such a post:
I had wanted to get some pictures of the trees and snowdrifts in our back yard, but our back door was frozen closed… so I went around to go through the gate, but this is what I saw:
The ice didn’t show up too well in the picture, but the gate is pretty stuck, too.
Not the most flattering picture I’ve taken of myself, but here is yours truly, blogger (on occasion lol) and photographer. =D
What’s still visible of our raspberry bushes. I guess we won’t have fresh raspberries ’til next summer. =(
