I happen to like Panera Bread. Not all of their breads and rolls are good, but they do have some that are just *amazing* and that I like to hoard for myself. Okay... sharing isn't so bad, either.
A Panera near here donates bread to my church for everyone to take home, and my family has discovered that we aren't the only ones in our house that love Panera.
Our cat goes nuts over it.
A week ago I had some bagels from Panera. I put them on my headboard shelf and went upstairs. When I came down, the bagels were pulled down onto my bed, claw holes in the bag and part of a bagel missing. The cat had been up to her tricks again. I filed away a reminder to myself to put the bagels out of reach next time.
Sunday came, and with it some rather cold weather. When it came time to go to church, I knew I should put the cat in the garage since she doesn't know how to behave. But it was SO cold out there, and she was SO happy lying on my bed. I put my bagels up where she couldn't get at them, covered everyone's water glasses with napkins so that she couldn't drink out of them, and put a cup over the butter (another favorite of hers). Safe, right?
We came home and walked into the kitchen. There on the floor was a bag of Panera bread that my mom had gotten that morning. It had a hole in it and had been eaten.
So.... next time I'm merciful and leave the cat inside, I need to remember to look around for any bread that might come under attack. I wonder what it is that she likes so much about Panera? She never attacks any of our other bread....
Oh, well... who can know the mind of a cat?

Just For Fun
I missed the youth group Christmas party last night because I was at the AWANA Christmas party, but I do know one thing that they did and thought I'd share it with you. Here is a list of Christmas carols. How many of the titles can you guess? (No googling! =P)
Example: Vehicular homicide was committed on Dad's mom by a precipitous darling = Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer
I must have accidentally deleted one... I thought I had twenty. Oh, well. Have fun!

So...
I guess ya'll aren't hopeless romantics or anything. I didn't get one. single. comment. on my blog post with proposals. I have to admit that I'm rather surprised, but I guess it does take a lot of time to watch them. I thought that at least Mr. Darcy would inspire a "love it!" or a "that's my favorite." And seriously? Who can resist how absolutely adorable Jack looks when he says, "I need to ask you a question." Fave line, right there folks. *sigh*
Anyhow... Movie proposals are a pretty lame subject, all things considered. Sorry if you're bored to tears.
I just listened to Focus on the Family Radio Theater's Anne of Green Gables. You know, I don't think anything can top the movies, but it was really good. I was lying in bed listening myself to sleep... at least, I was the first few nights. Last night was different. Instead of going to sleep, I lay in my bed sobbing quietly. I can never get over the fact that Matthew dies. I thought I'd be fine because I was expecting it, but no. Little Miss Emotional that I am, I ended up crying myself to sleep. Tears are cleansing, so that's okay, right?
Are any of you really emotional? I tend to cry over all things happy or sad. I even cry when I'm watching youtube videos of people singing. I get SO frustrated with myself! Oh, well... I haven't had much luck changing, so I guess it's the way I'm meant to be.
TTFN!

Christmas Time!
Hello, my faithful (and not so faithful) blog readers! This is your (sometimes) faithful (but usually not so faithful) blog poster! I can't believe how fast time flies and how little I have been posting. I think I say that every post, but that's because it's true.
I do have a good excuse though: It's almost Christmas, and there's a LOT to be done! This past Sunday was our Christmas cantata at church. My dad and I were both narrators, sharing scripture and the Christmas story between songs. We did the cantata twice, and it went well both times. I hope that many people were blessed!
Oh, and here is a Christmas song that I really love. It's so catchy! (Note: I *do not* approve of the dresses worn by the performers. Just so you know.)
It's not like it's my favorite Christmas song or anything... it doesn't have a whole lot of meaning compared to others. I just felt like sharing it. =D
I have been invited to three Christmas parties this Saturday. One starts at 5, another at 6, and another at 6:30. So.... I can't go to all three. How in the world am I to choose? I guess I'll just wait and see whose works out to be the easiest to get to in my state of no drivers license.
Yesterday my mom and I went Christmas shopping. We ended up in the same line and her total came to $35 even! How weird is that? It pretty much never happens that you get an even amount. Then it was my turn. My total came to $2.18 (Yeah, big spender here). WEIRDNESS.... because I had a gift card with $1.18 left on it, my total was $1. Even. Pretty interesting.
Oh, and the family in line ahead of us had a little girl who was bragging to everyone she saw: "Look what I found on the floor!" - a $20 bill. I remember Mom trying to teach me honesty and making me take a $5 bill I found to the management in case someone came back for it. The kid waving the twenty could use a mother like mine. I mean... $20 could mean a lot to someone!
Anyhow... that's some of what's going on here. Tonight is a Christmas party for the AWANA girls. I'm supposed to bring a game, but my little brother doesn't want me to take any of his out of the house. I guess I'll have my Mom intervene for me. =)
TTFN!
P.S. It is SOOOO lame... we haven't had any snow yet. In fact, it's raining as I type this. Grrrr.... This is NOT the way Colorado is supposed to be!

Twenty-second Time's a Charm
"If at first you don't succeed, try try again." - A phrase as familiar to me as my own name.
Why am I bringing this up? Look at the last one in the list. The year? 2011. Yup... they're making another one! And I have to admit that I have pretty high hopes for this one! You can view the trailer here. There are a couple of things that I have questions about. Like the whole deal with the fireplace. But overall, it looks like it could be a very good adaptation. What do you think?

Youtube Tuesday - Five Fabulous Proposals
I guess I'm just in a rather romantic mood right now, so I think I'm going to share a few proposals that I just love. I'm not saying that these are the best proposals of all time, but I hope you can enjoy them anyhow. =D

That's Not My Place
When Seth was younger I read him several books that are part of the Usborne "touchy feely" collection. These books are cardboard and have a bunch of different things for the little kids to feel. These stories were titled That's Not My _____. Tractor, airplane, monkey, car... you fill in the blank. As you turn each page, it shows a different tractor and the problem will be identified. It's seat is too scratchy. It's engine is too bumpy. The wheels are too.... The monkey's tail is too curly, the nose too cold. I can't even remember everything.
I caught myself playing this game. My problem? It's not MY mission field.
His pants are too baggy.
Her body is too pierced.
His speech is too coarse.
I want to brush off people instead of helping them because they don't fit into my picture of who I want to be associated with. But the truth is, I need to look at people the way God sees them.
"Yes, she's your mission field. Her heart is so broken."
"Yes, he's your mission field. He is searching for answers."
I don't really have a *lot* of opportunities for witnessing, but how many times am I ignoring the opportunities that I do have? And why is it so easy to forget....
I was once someone's mission field myself.

A Little of This, a Little of That, and a Little of This and That
Okay... I know that I messed that quote up, but for the life of me I can't remember exactly how it goes. And I imagine that very few of you will actually know what I'm talking about. =P It is, however, a quote from one of my very favorite animated characters....
Yup.... Tigger is awesome! =D Anyhow, on to the "this and that" stuff.
I am really irritated with myself because I got three credits for free mp3s on Amazon, then I forgot to do anything about them. When I finally remembered and got a song, I looked and found out that it had charged me $0.99 for the song. I discovered that my credits had expired. I just wasted a whole dollar when I could have gotten three free mp3s! Yeah... kinda annoyed. With Amazon and myself.
Dawn Treader premiered in London this week! I've heard a lot of positive things about it. There have been several bits of new footage popping up here and there, but I'm ignoring it all. At this point I just want to see the movie. =D
Sounds like everyone in my bloggy world had a good Thanksgiving! I certainly did. Thanksgiving day I just spent here at home with my family. We ate and played games and watched movies. First we watched one of my Christmas favorites, The Santa Clause. If you look it up, you will find comments on the "Drop-dead-gorgeous head elf", but for myself, I just love Charlie!
Yeah... Charlie's the winner! =P
We also watched Sense and Sensibility (2008). *love* that movie!
On Friday morning I went to my friend Erin's house. Actually, we did a bunch of shopping first, but I won't really go into details 'cause I don't want to ruin anyone's Christmas surprises. =) That afternoon Erin had a paper to write, so I watched Enchanted while she worked. I love that movie! I hadn't seen it for quite some time, so I laughed all over again at some of the great quotes:
Robert: [struggling to break free of her grasp] You're crazy!
Queen Narissa: No. Spiteful, vindictive, *very large*, but never crazy.
Queen Narissa: No. Spiteful, vindictive, *very large*, but never crazy.
.::.
Giselle: Oh, it's you.
Prince Edward: Yes, it's me. And you are?
Giselle: Giselle.
Prince Edward: Oh, Giselle! We shall be married in the morning!
Prince Edward: Yes, it's me. And you are?
Giselle: Giselle.
Prince Edward: Oh, Giselle! We shall be married in the morning!
.::.
Robert: You know most normal people get to know each other before they get married. They date.
Giselle: Date?
Robert: Yeah, you know. Date.
[Giselle shakes her head not understanding]
Robert: You go someplace special, like a restaurant, or a movie, or museum, or you just hang out and you talk.
Giselle: Date?
Robert: Yeah, you know. Date.
[Giselle shakes her head not understanding]
Robert: You go someplace special, like a restaurant, or a movie, or museum, or you just hang out and you talk.
.::.
Robert: [off Giselle's look] What?
Giselle: This is a very nice place.
Robert: Yeah?
Giselle: And we're eating dinner.
Robert: Yeah.
Giselle: [happily] This is a date!
Robert: Yeah!
[happy then realizing his mistake]
Robert: No! No. No, no, no, no. We're just, um, we're just friends.
Giselle: This is a very nice place.
Robert: Yeah?
Giselle: And we're eating dinner.
Robert: Yeah.
Giselle: [happily] This is a date!
Robert: Yeah!
[happy then realizing his mistake]
Robert: No! No. No, no, no, no. We're just, um, we're just friends.
.::.
Prince Edward: Silence! You lying, murderous wretch! When we return home, Andalasia shall know of your treachery. Your days as queen will be over!
Queen Narissa: Take my crown? Don't you think that's a bit melodramatic, dear?
Prince Edward: I don't know what "melodramatic" means, but you'll be removed from the throne, Narissa. I will see to it.
Queen Narissa: Take my crown? Don't you think that's a bit melodramatic, dear?
Prince Edward: I don't know what "melodramatic" means, but you'll be removed from the throne, Narissa. I will see to it.
Mmm.... That's not all of the good lines, but they seriously lose something when it's just a bunch of words. There are a few negative sides to the movie, but overall I really like it.
Last item (for now) is... I'm going to the Tchaikovsky Spectacular tomorrow night! I'm going to wear the dress I wore to the banquet this spring, but I'll be wearing a different jacket with it, etc. I'll try to take a picture.
That's all, folks!
(p.s. Sorry there's so much movie junk in this post, I'll try to avoid it next time)
